The Poet’s Breakfast is open to all and starts at 9:00am Saturday. Co-hosted by well known Bush Poet and Raconteur Carol Reffold aka The Patchwork Poet, the Poet’s Breakfast will showcase local and visiting Bush Poets, Story Tellers and Yarn Spinners. Attendees are invited to just watch and listen or strut their stuff . . . . . No appointment necessary.

If you wish to perform just turn up ~ put your name down ~ enjoy the poetry and wait for your turn. This event is for those who wish to observe or to experience ‘The Joy of Performing’, However there will be competitions including a ‘Youth Encouragement Award’ for the best bush poem by a young poet (18 or under).

Carol Reffold


As well as co-hosting the Poet’s Breakfast and judging the Bush Poetry competitions, award winning Bush Poet Carol Reffold aka The Patchwork Poet will be performing in the big marquee on Friday Night, Saturday and Sunday. She will also conduct a workshop on Writing & Reciting Bush Poetry.

Carol combines comedy with bush poetry and will take you on mind journeys you will not forget . . . . both outrageously funny and deeply moving.  She is one of Australia’s most highly regarded Poet’s and Story Tellers. A unique spoken word artist and multi-award winning Poet, as well as dipping into the works of the great Australian poets she writes and performs her original verse, anecdotes and comedy routines which engage and inspire audiences across Australia and recently in Great Britain.

Carol is currently enjoying a new career as enrichment speaker on cruise ships and can be seen at most of the major spoken word festivals in Australia.

Andrew Hayes


Multi Instrumentalist, Singer, Songwriter and Bush Poet Andrew will Co-Host the Poet’s Breakfast on Saturday morning.

He will also be seen and heard in the big tent where he will be performing solo as well as sitting in with others from time to time.
